At the Corning Country Club, Soo-Yun Kang missed a four-foot putt to force a playoff on the 72nd hole of the 2009 LPGA Corning Classic where Yani Tseng captured the LPGA Corning Classic with a final round of 5-under-par to finish with a total of 21-under-par (68, 70, 62, 67 total 267) with a one shot victory over Paula Creamer (66, 72, 65, 65 total 268) and Soo-Yun Kang (65, 69, 65, 69 total 268).
This is the 2008 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year’s second-career LPGA victory. She took home $225,000 of the $1.5 million purse prize.
Team VTech’s Amy Hung finished tied for 39th at 10-under-par (68,71, 72, 67 total 278) while Alena Sharp, Karen Stupples and Becky Morgan finished tied for 44th (9-under-par with a four day total of 279)
